Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026 · Governing law: Republic of Kenya
By accessing or using CodeUnit you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms form a legally binding contract between you and the operator of CodeUnit.
1. About this site
CodeUnit is a personal portfolio, blog, and digital products platform operated by an independent developer based in Mombasa, Kenya. The site allows visitors to read articles, learn about services, and purchase downloadable digital products including source code, templates, and documentation.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or make a purchase. By using this site you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are using the site on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that entity to these terms.
3. User accounts
Registration
You may register for a free account to access premium content, track orders, and manage downloads. You agree to provide accurate, current information and to keep it updated.
Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at admin@codeunit.dev if you suspect unauthorised access.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently delete accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or are inactive for more than two years. You may delete your own account at any time from your profile settings.
4. Purchases and payments
Payment methods
We accept M-Pesa (Lipa na M-Pesa), Visa/Mastercard via Stripe, and PayPal. All transactions are processed securely by these third-party payment providers. We do not store card numbers or M-Pesa PINs.
Pricing and currency
Prices are displayed in Kenyan Shillings (KES) by default with approximate conversions shown in USD, EUR, and GBP. The amount charged will be the KES price at the time of purchase. Currency conversion rates are approximate and may differ from your bank's rate.
Order confirmation
A purchase is complete when payment is confirmed by the payment processor and you receive an order confirmation email. We reserve the right to cancel orders in cases of pricing errors, technical faults, or suspected fraud.
Taxes
Prices shown do not include VAT or any local taxes that may apply in your country. You are responsible for any applicable taxes in your jurisdiction.
5. Digital products and downloads
Upon successful payment you will receive a secure download link by email. Download links are valid for 48 hours and allow up to 3 downloads per purchase. If your link expires before you complete a successful download, contact us at admin@codeunit.dev and we will reissue it.
The licence granted upon purchase is governed by the User Licence Agreement, which forms part of these Terms of Service.
Important: Digital products are delivered electronically. Once you have successfully downloaded a product, the purchase is considered fulfilled. Please review the product description carefully before buying.
6. Refund policy
When refunds are available
- The downloaded file is corrupt, incomplete, or does not match the product description
- A technical fault prevented the download from completing and we are unable to resolve it within 48 hours
- A duplicate payment was made for the same product
- The download link was never delivered to your email and was not found in spam
When refunds are not available
- You have successfully downloaded the product and then changed your mind
- You purchased the wrong product (please review descriptions before buying)
- Your technical environment (hosting, PHP version, etc.) is incompatible — compatibility requirements are listed on each product page
- More than 7 days have passed since purchase
How to request a refund
Email admin@codeunit.dev with your order number and a description of the issue. We will respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are processed back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
7. Intellectual property

All original content on CodeUnit — including articles, tutorials, code examples, graphics, and design — is the intellectual property of the site operator and is protected under Kenyan copyright law. You may not reproduce, republish, or distribute this content without written permission, except for brief quotations with attribution.
Purchased products
When you purchase a digital product, you receive a licence to use it as described in the User Licence Agreement. You do not acquire ownership of the intellectual property. The operator retains all copyright.
User-submitted content
By submitting a comment, message, or inquiry, you grant CodeUnit a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content on the site. You retain ownership but confirm that the content is yours and does not infringe third-party rights.

This site and its products are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. Digital products are provided as-is; while we strive for quality, we do not guarantee that any product will meet your specific requirements or work in every environment.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Kenyan law, the site operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site, including but not limited to loss of revenue, data, or business opportunity. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the product or service giving rise to the claim.
